Alanis Morissette
Alanis Nadine Morissette was born Ottawa, Canada, on June 1st 1974. Alanis' Greek is a male version of Alan's father's surname. Georgia is the name used by her mother and she shares two brothers, Chad along with Wade. At age 6, she learned how to play the piano. At 21, she became her first guitar lesson, she was a musician. Alanis released a single in 1986 called Fate Stay With My (b part: Find The Right Man). In Canada, Alanis recorded two dance-pop albums: Alanis (in 1991) and Now Is The Time in 1992. When she was 18, she relocated to Toronto and collaborated with various performers and song writers, but these collaborations did not work. They finally found her partner in 1994: Glen Ballard. He had been working with a variety of artists, including Aretha, Michael Jackson, and Barbra. Her move to LA at the age of 19 years old. The 13th of June, 1995 "Jagged Little Pill" was released via Madonna's Maverick Records. Alanis discovered a method of writing songs that was autobiographical and extremely personal. JLP had sold over 30 million copies across the globe and is the most-sold female-oriented album of all time. The album is also the 3rd most talked about album ever.
