Kristen Anne Bell was born in 1980 and is an American singer and actress. Bell is a Michigan native who was born and fostered by her parents, Lorelei Frygier (a nurse) and Tom Bell (a TV news director). Her family ancestry includes Polish (mother) and German, English, Irish and Scottish (father). Kristen was already a skilled performer from a young age. In 1992, Kristen was the first to go to an audition. She was given the role in Raggedy Ann And Andy. Bell's mother signed her up at an agency prior to when turning 13 years old. She later appeared on television commercials and newspaper ads. Now, Bell also begins individual acting classes. Bell appeared as a guest in Polish Wedding (2000) in 1998, as an uncredited actress. Bell participated in the drama and music club in Shrine Catholic High School. She was a part of Dorothy in the school production that was The Wizard of Oz. Bell studied in musical theater at the highly regarded Tisch School of the Arts located in New York City after graduating. Bell left the university in 2001, and began taking on the character of Becky in the film Tom Sawyer. In 2001, it was also that Bell's first appearance in a film that was credited to her, Pootie Tang (2002). The scene she appeared in has been cut out and the credits are all that depict her. Bell made an appearance alongside Angela Bettis, Liam Neeson as well as in the Broadway performance of The Crucible in 2002.
